The Onkyo company was founded back in 1946 under the name Osaka Denki Onkyo KK. Currently, the company is led and directed by Naoto Othsuki.
The history of the Onkyo company
Since its inception, the goal of Onkyo’s creators has always been to position itself on the pedestal of high fidelity. As early as 1970 Onkyo began to be talked about for its receivers, and it was not long before critics placed the company among the best in terms of quality. The quest for quality and the desire to experiment and revolutionize has always set Onkyo apart from many of its competitors. Taking a quick survey of its history, we can go and mark some milestones that revolutionized the way hi fi was conceived. 1981 is the year the Onkyo company launched its first CD players, with advanced volume controls and state-of-the-art features.
We can say that the 1980s, in general, were the decisive years for the launch of the company. This period saw the birth of many products that captured highly positive opinions from critics: turntables, AM/FM tuners, and tape cassette players.
The 1990s, however, represent the real consecration of the company. The release of models such as the Onkyo TX-7830, the THX Onkyo TX-SV919THX, and the first DVD player Onkyo DR-90 set the company's Brand on higher and higher levels. To date, Onkyo increasingly represents a true guide for both the most enthusiasts and those who are just taking their first steps. 2006 represents a very significant year, where Onkyo renews itself by bringing before its customers a new slogan: Imaginative sight & sound - Enter A new dimension. The translation is: Imaginative sight & sound: enter a new dimension. Onkyo knows that the best way to stay ahead of the times is to ensure the highest quality, and for this reason, as it has always done throughout its history, it spends a great deal of resources researching the best methods and materials for building its products.
