Audiolab 6000A è un amplificatore integrato in classe AB che eroga 50W di potenza per canale in 8 ohm e 75W in 4 ohm. Oltre ad un potente trasformatore toroidale da 200VA seguito da quattro condensatori da 15000 uF (60000 uF in totale), Audiolab 6000A offre quattro ingressi digitali, tre ingressi analogici, uno stadio phono per testine a magnete mobile, connettività wireless tramite Bluetooth (con la possibilità di utilizzare il codec aptX) e un amplificatore dedicato per cuffie. La sezione del preamplificatore è stata mantenuta il più lineare possibile, in modo da proteggere l’esperienza di ascolto da ogni interferenza. Estrema attenzione è stata rivolta dai progettisti di Audiolab al circuito digitale per garantire una qualità paragonabile ad un DAC separato ad alte prestazioni. Per questo motivo la scelta è caduta sul chip Sabre32 ES9018K2M Reference, che utilizza la tecnologia HyperStream a 32 bit di ESS e il Time Domain Jitter Eliminator: il risultato è un rumore di fondo estremamente basso e una gamma dinamica molto elevata.
Di particolare interesse è la possibilità di applicare tre filtri al DAC secondo le preferenze dell’utente finale: Fast Roll-Off, Slow Roll-Off e Minimum Phase.
